Micro:Bit AI Lesson 3

In this lesson, you will create a Micro:Bit AI project to build an assistive communication tool using wrist gestures. Connect your device, record and train the AI to recognise 'YES' (nod), 'NO' (shake), 'HELP' (flick), and 'Still' motions, then code responses like scrolling text or alerts. Test it in a nurse-patient role-play and invent additional signals.

4 - The Silent Communicator (Assistive Tech)

Today, you are building a tool that helps people communicate using only their wrist.

You need to teach the AI three simple messages. Do these while sitting at your desk:

    • Label 1: "YES" – A slow "nodding" motion (tilt the micro:bit forward and back).

    • Label 2: "NO" – A side-to-side "shaking" motion (like a hand-wave).

    • Label 3: "HELP" – A sharp, quick double-flick of the wrist.

    • Reminder: Don't forget your "Still" label!

    5 - Record & Train

Record each action at least 10 times.

Make sure the "YES" nod and the "NO" shake look very different to the computer.

          Click Train Model.
